Awesome submitted by susanlam on July 6, 2011, 4:07pm This book was so much fun to read. It starts out with Dr. Ethan Cheeseman and his three children traveling back in time with their great-great-grandparents, to return them to 1668. The author, Dr. Cuthbert Soup, pops in from time to time with short bits of unsolicited advice that were almost funnier than the story itself. In short, this is definitely worth reading.
An Improved Sequel submitted by Meginator on July 27, 2018, 10:02pm Amazingly, this book successfully maintains the joke-a-minute pace and narrative voice of A Whole Nother Story, but with greater discernment. The jokes are (slightly) fewer and (usually) better, resulting in a smoother reading experience that puts the characters and story at the center rather than the sheer gleeful silliness. Cuthbert Soup’s treatment of history is a bit, er, speculative, but it’s hard to hold that against a book like this. Overall, this book builds on its predecessor’s strengths and eliminates some of its excesses, and the result is a much stronger book with a surprisingly moving emotional core.
