cranky vs. crafty submitted by FordAlpha on August 30, 2019, 9:36pm This story of a cranky old man at war with the crafty squirrels who constantly steal from his bird feeders is relatable for any backyard bird lover. Like its main character, this humorous story has a good heart, but is pretty rough around the edges. The text doesn't flow smoothly, and the illustrations are just plain ugly. They portray what's described in the text without really adding anything to the story, and the artist doesn't seem to have spent much time observing either birds or squirrels (or people).
