Winter has been a disappointment to his royal IceWing family, unlike his sister Icicle, who has been raised to challenge IceWing queen--but now that Icicle has broken the truce and escaped from Jade Mountain Academy, so Winter, accompanied by his new clawmates, Moon, Qibli, and Kinkajou, embarks on his own quest to free his brother from the clutches of Queen Scarlet, and win the respect of his family.

Nice! submitted by skalantr on July 31, 2019, 10:36am this is pretty good but it isn't as exiting as the other ones

Winter is very good submitted by IsaGab2 on August 24, 2019, 10:15am I’ll admit I’m very biased towards Winter, but I enjoyed his book. It flows well from the first book (Moon Rising) into this one. The way we see how the competitive society of the IceWings has shaped Winter and his family is very interesting, and his choice at the end of the story feels like a mostly good conclusion to his arc. The ending doesn’t flow very well into Peril’s book, but I think that’s more of a problem with Peril’s book. It also becomes pretty much useless in the grand scheme of the arc, which is kind of annoying.

perspective submitted by dryang on June 29, 2020, 10:09am when i read moon rising i thought he was a jerk but if you look at it from his point of view he's just a dragon with a whole lot of history with nightwings.

a bit about winter submitted by justurlocalspirit on July 20, 2020, 7:33pm winter might be kinda soft on the inside, but not much. he still bullies moon in moon rising and threatens to tell everyone that she started the explosion. so to me, he is still a jerk.

good book submitted by tingzhaoum on July 21, 2020, 6:42pm wings of fire is one of my favorites all books are super good

Amazing! submitted by rawan on July 21, 2021, 12:23am This was one of my favorites in the series!

amazing submitted by peggyyang412 on July 23, 2021, 2:24pm awesome book!!!

really good submitted by The Book Broken Girl on April 16, 2022, 2:33pm At first in Moon Rising, Winter seems like a jerk. But really it's just the way he was raised and the fact that his brother (?) Hailstorm was killed (?) by Nightwings. Also, I love how all the names of the books in this mini series are puns on actual characters's names. i.e. MOON Rising, WINTER Turning, Escaping PERIl, etc

A great series submitted by lucydelo on July 22, 2022, 7:24pm We love this entire series
