Fiction, but didn't feel like it submitted by Susan4Pax -prev. sueij- on July 5, 2023, 8:38am This was a well-told tale about adopting an abused, abandoned, ADHD, PTSD, and overall challenging child. There was some weirdness (when the dad seriously contemplates if the boy *genuinely* comes from Mars, odd tangents about writing, etc.), but overall it’s got all the fixin’s of a good story: dad and kid each have stuff to work through, they have stuff to work through together, and they’re figuring out them-against-the-world. The father explaining how he leads the two of them through all that is a beautiful journey.
