Vegan submitted by jayin on August 17, 2011, 11:47am A great resource for vegan cooking. I particularly like the ideas for cheese product substitutions.

Yum! submitted by valeriemates on July 20, 2013, 6:25pm This is my favorite of Robin Robertson's cookbooks. Cheap food isn't that important to me, but what I love about this cookbook is that the recipes are quick, innovative, satisfying, and YUMMY!! Some favorites are: Curried Vegetable Salad, which has veggies and raisins in a creamy blended-cashew sauce; Pinto Picadillo, which has rice, potatoes, beans, and olives in a tomato sauce; and Farfalle with White Beans and Cabbage, which even my picky kids really enjoy. My family is gluten-free and it is easy to convert the recipes in this cookbook to be gluten-free as well as vegan. I turn back to this cookbook again and again.

Quick and easy submitted by yugure on August 2, 2013, 2:59pm Like another reviewer said, these recipes are quick and delicious, and so many are easily made gluten-free. I made the Korean Cabbage Salad last night and it was pretty great - especially the homemade baked tofu part of it. Yum! Highly recommend buying beans in bulk and cooking them yourself, if you're looking for ways to eat cheaply. You can cook up a big batch and freeze whatever you don't need immediately. Another great recipe from this book is the Roasted Root Vegetable Salad. Takes a lot of time to make but it's delicious and looks gorgeous - quite impressive. I would definitely make it for having guests over.
