no substance submitted by SurfGrape on July 7, 2016, 4:18pm I kept reading this, waiting for Atwood to make a point or two, but she never did. It's all academic theory with nothing whatsoever concrete to say about writing, writers, or the writing life.

There's a book by Heather Sellers called Chapter After Chapter that covers this same material, but does it much better. I recommend that book instead of this one.
