Great! submitted by alumeng.ajl on July 30, 2012, 7:35am This is by far the best Shannon Hale book ever!

Not Overly Princess-y! submitted by sdunav on July 3, 2013, 7:09am Wonderful middle-grade story with a touch of fantasy and no actual princesses - but a bunch of girls from ages 12-17 from a village of quarry workers. It deserved the Newbery Honors it won, and is enjoyable for adults as well as younger kids.

Good submitted by Fishing Rainbow on August 24, 2014, 3:08pm The book wasn't my favorite but it is defiantly worth the read.

If you like the movie Brave... submitted by echternk on June 16, 2017, 3:26pm ...Or Frozen

Then you are going to love this story! This is the kind of Princess book I hope to read to my daughter, or give her to read.

Wow, this book is worth your time. submitted by Family_Coffman on June 15, 2018, 5:35pm This book is a good read, especially on a rainy day with some coffee.

Don't let the title scare you away!! submitted by KlezmerGirl on June 20, 2018, 11:09am Princess Academy sounds rather...princessy, wouldn't you say? but it's really not, it's a wonderful book, about—but I can't tell you, because you have to read it yourself!! I will say that, it doesn't take place in a castle, it's not about a princess, and the characters are all great. oh yeah and the plot line is fabulous!! but the point is: It's not a bunch of super rich spoiled princesses living in a castle together! It's much, much, better!

Princess Academy submitted by Varshini on July 22, 2019, 10:12am One of my favorite books a few years ago. Shannon Hale is a wonderful writer! I was skeptical to read it at first, because I don’t like the whole Princess theme. However, this book isn’t anything like what you think of when you think of princesses. 5/5 stars
