For Parents submitted by keldan315 on August 25, 2018, 2:36pm I found this book to be more for the parents reading the book than for the kids listening. It didn't hold my son's attention, and he loves to talk about michigan.

Makes the Boring Song an Interesting Story submitted by Meginator on August 20, 2021, 7:59pm This book was way better than I expected. More than just a recitation of the familiar tune with appropriate local items added in, each of the 12 Days of Christmas is themed to a distinct area of Michigan. The story follows a young girl who accompanies her Michigander cousin on a tour of the state from Lansing to Iron Mountain and back, hitting some of the state’s most famous landmarks along the way and learning about the state’s history and culture. It’s a lot of fun to read and the gifts are perhaps even more impractical than those in the more traditional version. I highly recommend this for curious readers who would like to know more about Michigan, especially since travel has been particularly difficult lately.
