One of us! One of us! -- It's good to be a geek -- (Fandom intensifies) : geek girls online -- Geronimo! How to survive conventions -- Aim to misbehave : geek girl feminism.
"Fanfic, cosplay, cons, books, memes, podcasts, vlogs, OTPs and RPGs and MMOs and more - it's never been a better time to be a girl geek. The Fangirl's Guide to the Galaxy is the ultimate handbook for ladies living the nerdy life, a fun and feminist take on the often male-dominated world of geekdom. With delightful illustrations and an unabashed love for all the in(ternet)s and outs of geek culture, this book is packed with tips, playthroughs, and cheat codes, including how to make nerdy friends, rock awesome cosplay, write fanfic with feels, defeat Internet trolls, and attend your first con. Plus, insightful interviews with fangirl faves, like Jane Espenson, Erin Morgenstern, Kate Beaton, Ashley Eckstein, Laura Vandervoort, Beth Revis, Kate Leth, and many others"--Adapted from distributor's description.

Geeky and Feminist submitted by semartin on June 30, 2015, 11:11am If you're a fellow geek/nerd/gamer/etc. girl that either wants to expand her fandoms or figure out how best to reconcile her loves with the feminist cause this is the book for you. From how to survive your first con experience to recommendations of new anime, games, books, films, and shows to add to your watch/play/read lists this book covers it all. Particularly great if you're still trying to find your geek voice amongst the "Fake Geek Girl" phenomenon that is currently out there. Well written, with plenty of references in case you were wondering if Sam Maggs is indeed one of us.
