Revised But Retains The Basics submitted by BookNerd on June 26, 2017, 10:26pm If you want to refresh your GTD skills, this book contains both the core information from the first edition along with wisdom gained over the intervening years in helping thousands of people implement this process in their own lives.

The core principle: emptying your mind into a tracking system so that you aren't stressed by trying to keep everything going at once in your head, leaving your mind free to be creative and your life free to enjoy.

The books suggests many different systems for making sure you keep track of everything, from complex computer software to simple index cards. Choose the tools that work best for you and apply the simple processes to free yourself from guilt and anxiety about what you aren't getting done.

Organizing submitted by mowjac on August 28, 2018, 10:49am This book is a primer for organizing--and that's all. It doesn't really tell you how to get going, just how to organize the flow of information coming to you and how to compartmentalize it. The most beneficial part is on saying no to certain pieces.

Techniques to reduce stress and increase efficiency submitted by sVfGI7Glt2pz7GZgVB90 on July 28, 2019, 8:47am David Allen argues that the prevailing cause of everyday anxiety is that you are never truly sure of all the ‘things’ you’re supposed to do. You know you’ve got things to take care of and haven’t. Therefore, your mind keeps incoherently revisiting all that’s important but not yet completed. These “open loops” occupy much of your cognitive effort and debilitate your attention, causing anxiety, sapping your energy, and draining your willpower.
