Good submitted by kks on July 5, 2018, 3:48pm Nice story of goat. Colorful pictures.

Dandelion joy submitted by FordAlpha on August 20, 2018, 9:16pm This cranky caprine conforms to the stereotype of his species: a misanthropic loner who eats and/or tramples everything in sight, he threatens to steal the joy from the friendly denizens of Sunny Acres farm. His change of heart is unexpectedly triggered by the sight of a dandelion, a tiny bit of sunshine on a dry hilltop. The goat's heart softens as he devotedly cares for the flower, only to be broken by its inevitable transformation to a poof of seeds blown away by the wind. Happily, by this time, the other animals have become goat's friends, and they offer quiet comfort until new dandelions appear all over the hill. The text could have been fleshed out a little more, as goat's transformation from misanthrope to frolicking friend is not entirely believable (I'd expect him to be jealously protective of his flower and push the other animals away more than ever). The illustrations, however, are terrific, particularly goat's expressions. Overall, this is a nice read-aloud story with a message about caring that is not at all preachy. My 6-year-old has asked for repeated readings.
