Very worth the read submitted by 21621031390949 on June 30, 2019, 8:05pm Too wordy and fairly basic, but the author seems genuine about her initial naivete and subsequent learning about white privilege, and she made me think hard about myself and my relationships with POC. This has spurred me to learn more, and that's a good thing in itself.

One woman explores what it means to be white submitted by TeacherN on July 27, 2019, 12:09pm An excellent exploration of what it means to be white in this country. Very thought-provoking. I do have to say that I liked Crossing the Hall by Lori Wojtowicz a bit better. It's very similar, but I liked the writing better, and I liked that she was looking at her whiteness from the perspective of a teacher.

A good starting point submitted by srlorand on August 12, 2023, 9:37pm Highly recommended for white folks from upper-class backgrounds, like the author, who are wondering where to start with understanding racism and the part their ancestors have played in it. Others can also learn from it.
