Lincoln and the USA saved in 1861.

It is a credible description of a well known but not deeply known episode of great importance. Well written, engaging book. Excellent narrative. Character revelations of famous people (Alan Pinkerton, Abraham Lincoln, et.al.). In depth description of Kate Warne, the extraordinary female operative who merits a book of her own.
I strongly recommend this excellent book.
