Always relevant submitted by bokuno on February 9, 2007, 4:41pm Whether you've read every one of Kurt Vonnegut's novels, or sort of left him behind after his early books, this is a must-read book of essays and meditations. Vonnegut is as relevant today as he was in the days of Slaughterhouse Five and Cat's Cradle. His combination of cutting wit and compassion makes him a valuable commentator on social and political issues.
"If this isn't nice, I don't know what is"

I couldn't put this Vonnegut book down once I began reading. It's a quicker read at 145 pages, but each page packs a punch. It's beautifully written, poignant, and thought-provoking. There are so many wonderful quotes I have taken from this book and treasure like keepsakes, such as this one:
"I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, 'If this isn't nice, I don't know what is.' "
