Love It submitted by jibkidder on July 3, 2022, 1:44pm When you read your kids enough children's books, some really stick out above the rest. The style of Byron Barton does that for me. Especially this one! It is a kind of poetic minimalism. A children's book is a form, it is a kind of art, and because the audience has almost no preconceptions, almost any work will work. But there are few masters of the form. Barton is one. He may, as all do, fall into routine, imitate himself, find himself just going through the motions. "My Car", however, is a work of genius.
