I love this book is because the feelings that Elephants has about waiting are real.

Gerald the elephant tends to be fussy and impatient, while his best friend Piggie is free-spirited and imaginative. Here, Gerald gets REALLY fussy and impatient while waiting for a mysterious surprise that Piggie promises. This is one of a few "Elephant and Piggie" stories that really make me wonder how these two can remain best friends. Gerald becomes almost as obnoxious as a human child who's waiting for an unspecified event.
