Good! submitted by edwardsrl on January 1, 2012, 5:42pm best book ever!
Fun book submitted by willow on August 5, 2016, 2:46pm This book, and the others by Eager, ar great fun, especially if you are familiar with E. Nesbit's books. This is a funny one in which their lucky coin gives them exactly HALF of what they wish for!
Engaging read submitted by alotofaxolotl on August 19, 2018, 9:20pm This is a funny book about the misadventures that can ensue when magic wishes don't work quite as expected or wishes are made inadvertantly. My 6-year-old enjoys reading this along with the other books by the same author. Some of the language is slightly stilted and outdated but it doesn't seem to impede comprehension.
Marvellous submitted by anacoluthon on August 27, 2018, 1:13am I received the Tales of Magic box set for my birthday as a child, and enjoyed reading them over and over again as I grew up. The language may be a little old-fashioned, but the book is still lots of fun. I enjoyed reading about the children getting into silly or challenging situations, and then smartly figuring their way out of them.
Enchanting and timeless submitted by john.kasab on July 9, 2022, 3:09pm This delightful adventure of four children in early 1920's Toledo has held up well. They find a magic coin that grants them half of what they wish for and all the adventures and misadventures one would wish for ensue. The book has held up reasonably well since being written in 1951—there's one scene where the children are blithely racist about meeting a foreigner.
Must read children's fantasy submitted by audreyhalversen on July 13, 2022, 12:32pm I'm always surprised that more of my friends didn't read this as kids! This was definitely a childhood favorite of mine, and for good reason! Silly, fun, creative. No notes.
