The Fiery Cross is the fifth book in a series written by Diana Gabaldon about Clare Fraser, who can travel through time by touching stones (think Stonehenge). The first time she time traveled, it was an accident. She traveled two-hundred years backward to the 1740s and met the love her life, Jamie Frasier, a Scottish highlander. Their love story has developed through out each of the books as Gabaldon details the historical setting that surrounds them. In The Fiery Cross, the year is 1771 and the unrest and dissatisfaction of the colonists in the New World are humming.

Slow burn, but worth sticking with. submitted by lmangus on June 21, 2019, 10:05am I will admit, it took me three tries to finally press through and reach that point in a book where you can't put it down, but it's there. And well worth the wait. Laughed aloud at many points in the book. I truly enjoy the combination of history, drama, mystery, with the dusting of fantasy/scifi D.Gabaldon infuses into her books.

A great story submitted by dree411 on August 31, 2019, 12:13pm I still love this continuing story, and have read it multiple times. Waiting to see what they do with the tv interpretation. While the tv interpretation for the earlier books has been pretty good, I enjoy the books so much more.
