My Favorite Book of Poetry submitted by dntanzer on August 10, 2018, 12:24pm These are creative, beautiful poems exploring Siken's life and relationships. Some of them feel sad, but I found them enjoyable to read, regardless.

A wonderful introduction to the poetry of Richard Siken submitted by Vega on August 29, 2019, 11:00pm After this book and his next came out, Siken admitted that he could no longer fall back on the second-person poetry (addressing it to the nameless "you") that he employs so well in Crush, simply because it was an incredibly easy way to make that connection with the reader. Endowed with that a sense of personal intimacy, Crush is an exploration into the melancholy and confusion that often accompanies our greatest loves. It is well-crafted in its skilful use of language, and its imagery is so vivid that you may well get lost in it.
