Does What It Says in the Title submitted by Meginator on July 4, 2022, 8:45am This book delivers on its title, presenting 5,000 distinct facts (I counted fewer than ten repeats throughout my casual multi-day perusal) about a huge range of subjects. Each two-page spread revolves around a theme and contains 15-1000 facts as well as a large-scale illustration relevant to the subject; although the majority of the themes relate to science, the humanities are also well represented, making for a nicely varied accumulation of miscellaneous knowledge. Varied page layouts also help prevent the book from becoming too mind-numbing, although it is best read in small bursts rather than in marathons (trust me on this one). Despite its attempts to appeal primarily to tweens, this book will surprise and delight anyone who is interested in trivia and in the minutiae of, well, everything.
