Animal Farm submitted by tomiwa on June 15, 2015, 12:23pm This book is a very good example of what can happen to government over time, how even when founded upon basic ideals of equality and fairness, one individual seeking power can corrupt the central power by use of propaganda. Animal Farm was written about the Russian revolution, but is a fair warning to any group about what happens when power lust takes hold. But Animal Farm doesn't just give a political message. It also makes just a great story to read. I would recommend this book to all those who would enjoy reading, as Orwell called his book, a "fairy story."

Truly a classic submitted by Isabella Giviyan on July 1, 2018, 11:42am Too often, I read books listed as "classic" simply because everyone knows the story, so you must read it or be left out. However, Animal Farm manages to be at once intellectual and accessible to everyone, timeless and yet pertinent to the times. It is also a rare breed of book that terrifies the audience without great bloodshed or monsters. Everyone should read this.
