A Red Hot "Locked Room" Mystery submitted by Jan Wolter on August 6, 2013, 4:45pm A small team of fire fighters in a National Park find themselves cut off from safety by the advancing fire. Each fire fighter takes shelter in a portable aluminum foil "shake and bake" emergency tent as the inferno engulfs them. When the fire burns itself out, one man is dead, but not from the flames - impossibly, he's been knifed in his tent.

So on the one hand you have a window into the rough and fascinating life of backwoods firefighters, and on the other hand you have a darned good mystery story with an appealing detective. What more can you ask for?
