Go ahead and read all 5 books. You won't be sorry you did.
As mentioned in my reviews of those books, the first three books of this series are rather weak, and the fourth is wonderful, but off on a tangent to the rest of the series. This final book, however, wraps everything up with a bang, finally delivering the long deferred payoff for everything set up in the previous books. It's good fun.
