Two useful threads submitted by willow on August 2, 2015, 5:26am This book provides basic information about the earth, including longitude and latitude and time zones, as well as an overview of various countries and cultures.

(The book is sold with a small collapsible paper globe, which is a great idea but tends to want to collapse and may not survive in library copies.)
