Set in the same world as the Parasol Protecorate, the YA series is filled with all the saucy adventure and droll humor Gail Carriger's legions of fans have come to adore.
In her alternate England of 1851, while taking her friend Sidheag by train to her werewolf pack in Scotland, sixteen-year-old Sophronia uncovers a plot that threatens to dissolve all of London into chaos and must decide where her loyalties lie once and for all.

Still good, but not as great as the first two
submitted by wellscai on August 10, 2018, 10:08pm
The good: I really loved that this book is taking a darker turn and showing more of the downsides to the weird and wonderful alternative Britain of Carriger's imagination. Sophronia deals with guilt, grief, and compromise, and seems to be maturing a bit more.
The bad: I was so over the love triangle. Can we have one YA book without a love triangle? It was the driving plot of the book, and I found it to be probably the least interesting part.
the series keeps getting better submitted by Princess Cimorene on July 21, 2021, 7:17pm I love that each book is well-plotted and exciting, with the bonds between characters growing stronger. Sophronia is a great heroine for teen readers to root for because she's brave, quick-thinking, and dedicated to honing her skills.
