cute submitted by manz on June 22, 2015, 3:50pm This is a cute sequel to The Gruffalo. Make sure you read that one first. It makes more sense.

Gruffalo's Child submitted by SBNB on June 30, 2015, 10:01pm Very cute. There's a short movie version of this one too, and it's also adorable.

The Gruffalo Returns submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2021, 10:21am This book finds Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler in fine form, as the legend of the Gruffalo continues when a young Gruffalo decides to discover for themself whether their parent’s tales of a terrifying mouse are actually true. I suppose I’m still not quite sure why the other animals in the forest responded to the young Gruffalo as they do, but their responses do at least seem consistent with the Gruffalo universe, as does the mouse’s response to the Gruffalo’s appearance. Donaldson’s prose sings with a wonderful bouncing rhythm that makes this an excellent choice for reading aloud, and Axel Scheffler’s illustrations give readers a lot of small details they can latch onto to predict where the story is heading. The ultimate ending, of course, has a bit of sly humor to it and wraps the book up with a perfect blend of humor and heart.
