Putting a Face to the Crusades submitted by arounds on July 20, 2011, 1:06pm James Reston does an amazing job in this book giving life to the Third Crusade. While it is a non-fiction book about historical events and strategies, it is also two portraits: Richard "The Lionheart" and Saladin are both illustrated with multi-faceted detail. An excellent read for anyone interested in the Crusades -- or interested in the people behind the names in history textbooks.
