COMMUNITY REVIEWS

French Revolutions submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on June 14, 2014, 1:18pm While "Les Miserables" by Victor Hugo describes such epic events in French history as its 1789 and 1830 revolutions, as well as Waterloo, this novel portrays France in its 1848 revolution and subsequent reign of Napoleon III.
I was quite glad to read that, while Marius and Cosette, may not have lived happily ever after, they do continue to work to improve the lives of the poor and reform the government. The couple found a newspaper that advocates for freedom and so becomes outlawed, but they continue to print nonetheless.
Azelma returns to France to seek her revenge, and does in such a sad yet poignant way.
While many online review trash the novel, I really enjoyed it.
