Year's Best Science Fiction & Fantasy 2012 submitted by Fevvers - STAR473 on August 1, 2016, 9:57am I usually find a lot to enjoy in these collections, and always discover a new (or just new to me) author who I then seek out more work by. For this 2012 volume, I had a couple favorite stories. "The Cartographer Wasps and the Anarchist Bees" by E. Lily Yu was bizarre and beautiful, a deep and truly surprising piece. The entry by Catherynne M. Valente, "The Girl Who Ruled Fairyland - For A Little While," is a fairly long piece that takes place in the same setting as her great Fairyland books, of which I am a fan, and I like this very different peek at that world.
