Hooked! submitted by kferguson on July 24, 2016, 2:51pm I was hooked from the start...gritty, tragic, irreverent, hilarious!
One of my all time favorites. submitted by globesky on June 16, 2018, 10:02pm I haven't read a book like this one. Alexie has an ability to seamlessly weave fantastical and mythical elements into this gritty, sad story. At first, it took a little effort to wrap my head around these embellishments but after a few chapters I realized these moments really add to the emotional impact of the story. Despite his cutting descriptions of life in this isolated piece of America, Alexie sustains a note of hope throughout the story. READ IT! OMGGGG READ THIS BOOK!!!! Life on modern American Indian reservations isn't a topic I have come across many times, but I feel like I learned a lot about that part of our country. Mind blowing. Astounding. Heart-breaking.
