Good submitted by tree64 on July 7, 2011, 6:19pm This was a really good book. It is an easy read, so it is ideal for the youth ages. It portrays the life of an orphan boy living in Korea, and his dream of becoming a potter himself. I would recommend this book.

And obviously, because of this visit, I read A Single Shard and it truly was fantastic book. Highly recommended!

It also gives a good sense of what it means to be an apprentice and how long it takes to learn a craft.

enjoyable submitted by potterbee on March 16, 2017, 5:09pm Easy, flowing story to read! The techniques described about the potter's process to slake clay, mix glaze, and fire the kiln are accurate and well told. Also enjoyed the insight to the potter's mind and process of creation.

Beautiful book submitted by Marcie Austerberry on July 13, 2023, 9:16pm The primary story is about an orphan boy, and how important having a family is, even if it's not your biological relatives, but you also get to learn a bit about ancient Korea and ornamental pottery. Lovely read.
