Infection in Ann Arbor submitted by afarha90 on June 19, 2009, 10:52am Good book. It's not the deepest thing ever written, but it makes for a quick, enjoyable (if somewhat gruesome at times) read. I definitely got a kick out of a large portion of it being set in Ann Arbor, and some of the descriptions (i.e., of Michigan students' attitudes towards oncoming traffic). It was also fun knowing I was about two blocks away from what was going on in the book. The Ann Arbor factor definitely adds points if you're from the area, but even without being able to appreciate the references, the book is still a good read.
Only ok submitted by aklute on June 19, 2014, 9:35am The Ann Arbor setting did add something but this author just isn't a good writer. The plot was so interesting and spooky that I really wanted to like it more. I would still recommend this to anyone who likes REALLY gross, spooky stories, especially if they're from Ann Arbor.
Fast-paced--but Stephen King-ish, so not 'deep'

Scary alien invasion premise works 'til you think about it and say "yeah, but if the aliens can do x, y, and z why didn't they just do such and such, which have led to their immediate/total victory?", but what movie about aliens doesn't fail in that way?
...And the fast-paced action will sweep you along so that such considerations don't become a distraction.
