Regular baked goods made with some whole grains
submitted by willow on August 21, 2015, 12:04pm
King Arthur Flour cookbooks are always reliable and good.
This one shows how to make traditional baked goods (savory as well as sweet, but mostly sweet) with a variety of whole grains, usually mixed with white flour. If you are looking for ultra healthy, or no sugar, or 100% whole wheat, this is not going to be what you seek.
Delicious!

I had to buy this cookbook - there are so many good recipes! Toasted Sesame and Sunflower Loaf is my favorite yeast bread from this book, but runner-ups include Honey-Oatmeal Sandwich Bread, and Buttermilk-Rye Rolls. Then there are delicious Morning Glory Muffins, a scrumptious Nectarine Upside-down Cake, and a great Cornbread recipe. A whole chapter on fruity crisps, cobblers and puddings.
A bit of whole-grain flour doesn't necessarily make a recipe nutritious, but it adds flavor, depth - and makes you feel just a little bit better when eating it.
