Good! submitted by LuckyDuck on August 26, 2011, 10:21pm So good

classic submitted by skonrath on July 14, 2012, 11:30pm This is not the best children's book out there, but it is timeless. My daughter loves it since there is something absurd about the size of him, and I think kids find it silly to imagine such a thing. A tried and true classic that I'm sure she will be reading to her children one day.

Good Introduction to Clifford submitted by ks1287 on June 29, 2013, 10:54am Not the most exciting children's book out there, but it's a good introduction the classic Clifford character.

Mah Dawg is a Big Dawg submitted by Jan Wolter on July 26, 2013, 2:48pm I had to read this an awful lot of times to an awful lot of kids, and I eventually decided that it works best if read in a southern accent. Kids seem to like it that way, but adults flee the room for some reason. Don't ask me why. The book itself is just a series of big dog jokes. It's gone through a lot of editions. If you find the original editions, you'll find that Norman Birdwell wasn't all that good an artist originally. Clifford was seriously ugly. All the characters had the same jack-o-lantern noses as Emily Elizabeth. (I guess they didn't want to change her too much). Weirdly, they changed the "bad boys" who don't come around any more from white to black. Anyway, kids love Clifford, and inventive adults can find ways to reading him endlessly. What more do you want?

Fun submitted by Yanzhang on June 18, 2014, 4:03pm Lots of fun

Classic clifford submitted by sarai koster-mockeridge on August 8, 2017, 7:00pm This first clifford book is a great introduction to the story.

Good submitted by TLW1998 on July 23, 2019, 6:56pm My kid loves Clifford.

You never can tell . . . submitted by FordAlpha on August 8, 2019, 9:33pm what concept will generate a big hit, a beloved classic spawning dozens of books and hundreds of TV episodes, and what concept will fizzle and die. Clifford the Big Red Dog hit the jackpot. Why? Doesn't matter, really. It is what it is.

"Clifford's Christmas" is part of my family's Christmas-book canon, dating to my childhood. We also have "Clifford's Thanksgiving". Thinking that more Clifford might be fun for my kids, and having only vague memories of the earliest Clifford books, I checked out this first installment. Both my kids and I found it extremely lackluster. The idea of a gigantic red dog is silly and the story is good for a few giggles. The artwork is mediocre.

Clifford lives near us submitted by ccrose on August 31, 2019, 11:12pm Or so my child thought a store had a big red box on their roof and she knew that was Cliffords house

a big dog submitted by trex44 on June 15, 2023, 9:56am this book is fun about a giant dog and the adventures that happen to everyone
