Wickedly fun submitted by llwalsh on July 1, 2014, 6:27am Hiaasen gives pop culture a dose of his dark humor and it is a riot! This is a great book to read on vacation, but be warned! Once you pick it up, you'll be laughing out loud and won't want to put it down.

Enjoy!

Hiaasen submitted by AGAPHD on June 25, 2020, 8:20pm If you like Hiaasen, you'll probably like this. It's his usual mix of cultural critique and off-beat humor.

Delightful submitted by kkjammers on August 16, 2022, 8:07pm Hiaasen's fast-moving story about a pop star who couldn't sing, her stand-in, a shady real estate businessman who crimes his way through life (sound familiar?), Skink - former governor of Florida who lives in the wild in a most unique way - and assorted other colorful characters, is a sharp, highly entertaining look at pop culture and Florida politics that I thoroughly enjoyed. "Star Island" is an enormously clever account of human qualities that are either valued or despised.
