This charming chien is promptly named Genevieve and is the object of twelve little girls' affection. She fits into their lives perfectly, until the school trustees get wind of her presence. Then it's off with her! Luckily, after a long search, Genevieve returns home, with a surprise for each little girl!

This is a great addition to the Madeline series - it captures the charm and simplicity of the original story. Bemelmans timeless illustrations are stunning and his simplest line drawings manage to capture emotion beautifully. Recommended for any Madeline fans, and for animal lovers too!
