beautiful submitted by airgood on August 3, 2014, 3:58pm The illustrations of Paris in this book are so great. The story and kids are adorable!

A charming story about a special girl submitted by gulickb on April 16, 2015, 10:37am Madeline is a story set in Paris in about the smallest girl in a house. She is very brave and daring and loves adventure. In this story she becomes ill and everyone is worried about her. The book was a Caldecot Honor book. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is touching and it is a book that every child should read at some point!!!
It is a part of a series and each one better than the last!

Classic for a Reason submitted by Sara W on August 29, 2015, 9:43pm Reading this to my toddler brought back distinct memories of hearing the story when I was a little girl, which added to the joy of the experience. I remember the suspense of Miss Clavel running fast and faster down the hall, only to realize the girls were just suffering from jealousy and not from appendicitis at the end of the story. The illustrations are simply gorgeous and the manner of storytelling, describing the girls' routine and Madeline's boldness, is so unique and memorable. It's no wonder this is a classic and continues to be loved by new readers.

Madeline submitted by NinjaUnicorn on June 14, 2023, 7:23pm This is a great picture book! My brother and I love it!

Definitely a classic! submitted by aylinjerkins on July 8, 2023, 9:35am I would have given this 5 stars but my kids told me to rate it 4 because it was "boring with bad drawings". But definitely a classic story of the French little girl in Paris with drawings of actual Paris architecture.
