As busy as the spaces it describes submitted by cherylo on July 31, 2012, 7:37pm The book seems mainly to show off tiny to small urban apartments, many with quirky designs necessitated by their history. The majority of the designs and spaces cram so much in, they looked cluttered and busy. I would find it exhausting to live in some of these spaces. Also, I really don't like architectural/interior design photos with stacks of books on the floor, especially stacks of books waist high or higher. It is not a functional, accessible way to store books! That said, there was in several nice uses of color, and several of the tiny apartments did look quite inviting, especially those with loft beds over storage or other functional spaces, such as the one depicted on the cover.

This book might have some ideas for you! There are many full-color photographs of living situations ranging from a historic loft to a tiny one-bedroom, to a large closet-sized New York Studio. Each apartment and tenant features different ways to work with small spaces, from adding raised platforms to sleep on top with storage on the bottom to minimalism at its most minimal.

Not all of the suggestions and solutions presented here will be appropriate for your space, but it's nice to see so many options in one book. Each page offers a new idea, and you can go from section to section gleaning tips and tricks to try at home. Many tips also work in larger spaces and homes — organization can be practical anywhere, and fresh design ideas are always helpful!
