COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Absorbing submitted by Zekicmom on July 27, 2017, 7:33am The timeline in the book covers decades, but it is all back story and then consequences for what happens over a four day period in the fall of 1942. Sandra, the main character, is Deaf, Jewish, and a woman, a triple whammy that threatens her dreams. Although at times predictable, "Four Days in Michigan" gives a thought provoking and in depth view of Deaf culture that I found really interesting.

Well written submitted by pamhockey25 on August 13, 2021, 12:22pm This book offers a look at the deaf community told by an author who knows that experience. The book opens with four days in which Sandra, the protagonist, a young deaf Jewish women in Detroit during WWII who falls in love with Rudy, a young, hearing Catholic who is about to be sent to Europe. The last part of the book takes part far in the future for these two people. I learned a lot about what life is like in the Deaf Culture. Very interesting
