wants, needs, and empathy submitted by TN on July 6, 2016, 7:36pm Those Shoes is about a boy that wants the trendy shoes everyone at school is wearing. The book has realistic elements about a family with limited money and having to make choices between wants and needs. The family goes to thrift shops trying to find a pair within their budget. This is a good book to teach about friendship and empathy.

Sweet story submitted by purplelily on August 7, 2018, 10:50pm The boy in this story really shows empathy and kindness towards his classmate. It also has themes of true friendship.
