"Legal Whodonit" books
submitted by teri on August 8, 2019, 5:26pm
"The Sibyl in her Grave" is one in a series of four light-hearted books written by Sarah Caudwell - often termed "legal whodonits".
Caudwell herself was a British barrister, so she's well positioned to write about a group of barristers who often find themselves trying to figure out a mystery. The books are written from one person's viewpoint, with the addition of letters and telephone calls.
Caudwell's writing can be occasionally tedious (all that tax law stuff), but she writes very well, with many hilarious moments.
I enjoyed all her novels - and wish she had had the time to write more.
