The Roaring Twenties submitted by hcf on August 5, 2012, 11:18am Great story. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed reading this story about the main character (the chaperone) versus Louise Brooks. Well done.
historical fiction submitted by airgood on July 12, 2015, 8:41am Overall, a great historical fiction read. There were parts that seemed a bit soapbox and parts that dragged on a bit too long, but it was an enjoyable story.
great book! submitted by smgop on August 3, 2015, 3:36pm Occasionally became annoyed with the characters, but overall I really enjoyed this book.
Engaging historical fiction submitted by A2AE on July 27, 2020, 6:29am We read this for book club and had sooo much to talk about. The contrasting lead characters and the complex motivations that fueled their choices made this a great read. We felt a lot of compassion and sympathy for the women in the story and the limited options available to them almost 100 years ago.
