COMMUNITY REVIEWS

The Feast of Love submitted by pamhockey25 on August 13, 2016, 5:21pm I enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. There were some really great parts in the book, and some compelling characters and situations. It's more like a series of short stories tied together through the characters. It was a nice escape, with some great references to things here in Ann Arbor, which made it more enjoyable.

A Good Life with Poignant Bad Spots submitted by ccrose on July 18, 2019, 12:45pm I love the characters in this novel, mainly because most of them are moving through space without a clue as to how to steer. Yes, the references to Ann Arbor neighborhoods are cool and the fatal description of fall football Saturday madness is absolutely correct. A city-wide seizure comes and goes by the middle of the post game nights.

Forgettable & boring submitted by psgriffi on July 4, 2020, 10:06pm I picked this book from a Little Free Library and thought it sounded interesting as it was set in Ann Arbor. However, I found the characters vision-less, the plot boring, and the prose only occasionally poetic/clever. I suffered through this book and couldn't wait for it to end.

Fun Ann Arbor based story submitted by ajh on August 7, 2023, 6:23pm I liked this quite a bit - more so than the movie (which gave up the Ann Arbor location). I liked the characters, and I do enjoy Baxter's prose.
