REAPER MAN by Terry Pratchett submitted by wfzimmerman on November 30, 2007, 8:47am One of the very best Pratchetts. My favorite moments? when Bill Door reacts with rage to the idea that the new death wants to wear a crown; and, of course, when Azrael says YES.

my beloved diskworld submitted by ferdoble on August 11, 2011, 3:56pm To describe Terry Pratchett’s books is a difficult thing to do. The disc world series is in a word fantastic. Terry Pratchett, would seem to use the disk world, to take any theme, or know story and then twist it in his own very humorous way. These are not always laugh out loud funny (sometimes they are), bur rather the sort of funny that just sort of lifts your spirits a little bit.

I will say that in some cases there isn’t always a really strong story, sometimes its just his characters moving through one of those twisted themes. I like them all, you may want to start with the Most Von Lipwig story line (“Going Postal” and then “making money”) as at least the first one has a really great story line.

I love to pepper my reading queue with these books to keep all those books that take themselves seriously fresh and interesting.

I recommend reading them ALL.

OR listening to them. The two main narrators of Terry Pratchett’s books are Stephen Briggs & Nigel Planer and they take Terry Pratchett’s phenomenal writing to a whole new level.

The Grim Reaper submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on August 17, 2012, 11:14am If you like jokes about zombies, you'll love "Reaper Man," although in some ways the premis is similar to other Discworld novels about the title character, Death. The novel also mocks the pompous and mostly useless wizards of Unseen University, so read "Mort" and "The Colour of Magic" first to become aquainted with them and the Discworld in general. The book is actually very funny, even if it deals with a very grim (reaper) subject.
Sir Terry Pratchett is one of Britain's most beloved writers and his audience rates his books among such all time favorites as the Narnia chronicles. I highly recommend everything he has written.

My favorite Death novel not including Susan submitted by Bakalm on August 31, 2018, 11:14am Death is one of my favorite characters on the Disc, and this book has him at his finest. Death is being replaced in a plot by Auditors, and he decides to try the quiet life. I absolutely love everything he does while trying to be human. The climax may be the part of the series I remember most often; I won't spoil it, but it really makes you think. In the end, Bill Door is the best man for the harvest.
