A private reception was given by AADL to welcome Boris Palmer, the mayor of Ann Arbor's Sister City of Tübingen, Germany, and a delegation of 29 Tübingen citizens. The delegation visited Ann Arbor to learn more about our city's endeavors in environmental politics and continue support for artists' exchanges between the two cities. Mayor Palmer has initiated an unprecedented climate protection campaign at the local level. At an AADL public event on Tuesday, May 13, he gave a presentation outlining his climate protection campaign.
Boogie Woogie Pianist Matthew Ball
The best Boogie-woogie songs are the ones people easily recognize, love to listen to, and can’t resist tapping their toes along with the rollicking beat. One of Michigan’s best rising pianists, Matthew Ball, will bring Ragtime, Boogie-Woogie, and Blues hits from the 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s to the Downtown Library on Thursday, April 30 at 7 pm. Tap along to classic songs like Swanee River, Over the Rainbow, Waltzing Matilda, The Entertainer, and more! Matthew, whose performances have included jazz festivals, symphonies across the Midwest and Canada, and NPR, will play both new and traditional arrangements of the classics.
