In its 21st year, the Michigan Shakespeare Festival has expanded from a one-weekend festival to a five-week season in two theatres producing and performing classical plays. But, why, almost 400 years after his death, are we still fascinated by Shakespeare? Jan Blixt, Producing Artistic Director of the Michigan Shakespeare Festival, will answer that question with history, literary criticism, and pop culture. She will also discuss the upcoming season of plays, including productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Henry IV. The program will begin at 7pm on Monday, July 6 at the Downtown Library.
