Print Extravaganza... Make A GLOWSTER!

Join us for a day of print making! You’ll get a chance to screen print a glow-in-the-dark dino poster- a GLOWSTER! While that’s happening we’ll also have pre-carved blocks, paints, and assorted paper for you to do some stamped prints of your own. All the fun happens in the multi-purpose room at the Downtown branch this Sunday. See you there!

Make Your Own Board Game

Calling all kids in grades K - 5 to come use your imaginations to make your own board game.
On Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m at the Pittsfield Branch we'll have all the boards and supplies
that you need to map out an adventure. Build your own game board, write your own rules, invent
your own characters.

Tie-Dye Bandanas & T-Shirts

Create groovy designs with tie-dye! We'll have all the supplies and bandanas to dye, otherwise please bring your own t-shirt or piece of clothing to dye. Weather permitting, we'll work outside!

Duct Tape Fun for Families

Help your child create colorful and sturdy bookmarks, flip-flops, hats or whatever you can imagine!

This event is for Grades K - 5 with an adult.

Block Printing Workshop

Tuesday, July 24 | Malletts Creek | 6:30-8:30pm |Grades 6-Adult

In this workshop you will create a design, carve the design into a soft linoleum block, and then print the image onto paper or note cards. This is your chance to create something to hang on your wall, or perhaps design a card to send out.

We will supply all the tools necessary, you supply the creativity! If you have something you’d like to print on, or have your own tools, feel free to bring them. Check out some of AADL’s books on block printing for a spark of ideas.

This DIY event is for Grades 6- Adult, and takes place at the Malletts Creek Branch on Tuesday, July 24, from 6:30-8:30pm. See you there!

Maker Works Craftshop: LED Lit, Laser-Engraved Plaques

Tuesday July 24, 2012: 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm -- Downtown Library: Multi-Purpose Room

What could be cooler than playing with lasers and LEDs? The staff of Maker Works will lead this geeky craft workshop and discuss the basics of laser engraving and LEDs. Maybe some of the bravest will even get to do some soldering! This project will take the entire time to complete, so please arrive early.

Felt Ball Fun!

Make a felt ball using wool, patience, your hands, and warm, soapy water! It can be a gift, a decoration, or a fun baby ball!

If you like to make your own jewelry, but don't like it to always scream out, "I made this myself!" Paper Clip Earrings might be the program for you. While it sounds like we'll be linking paperclips together and hanging them from our ears, the finished earrings look more like what you see to your left.
