It's the FOURTH Badge Drop!

OH MY WOW! Summer Game is BIGGER THAN EVER! The ever-growing momentum is such that NOT EVEN A FEDERAL HOLIDAY CAN STOP IT! Let's make like Kai Ryssdahl and do the numbers, which reveals an ASTOUNDING 3,265 players, scoring almost 23 MILLION POINTS and earning 17,500 BADGES! Can you even wrap your BRAIN around this? We're only a quarter of the way through summer, and we sure can't!

And even though it's Independence Day, we know that our most hardcore players are ENTIRELY DEPENDENT on these Friday Badge Drops, and we certainly wouldn't leave you hanging all weekend with only week-old content to entertain you. SO LET'S GET TO IT!

2014 Badge Drop #4

If you missed any of our Kids Rock Concerts over the past three Sundays, it's too late now to earn TOP MASTER, but it's not too late to play TOPOPOLY for fun and BIG POINTS! Come to the Library on the Lawn tent at Top of the Park THIS SUNDAY JULY 6 from 4-8 PM to play TOPOPOLY, it's fun and challenging! And mark your calendars for Monday, July 21st; there will be a BIG BADGE associated with that night's Library Board meeting, so stay tuned for details in next friday's badge drop.

But of course, you're just here to see if we drop any hints about the long-awaited return of the SUMMER GAME SHOP, now only a few days away! Well, we'll tell you there are a TON of cool new items in the shop, and it will be opening for your SUMMER GAME SHOPPING pleasure sometime Monday Night! We've got plenty of supply to go around so no worries about missing out! (and if you're really desparate for a peek at summer game shop items past, present, and future, well, you might need to find a web geek, or at least look where one would look, to find a hidden clue in this post.)

SO, stay tuned, players, SUMMER GAME 2014 is just getting warmed up! Hang on tight with these new badges for your Holiday weekend, and come back Monday Night for the triumphant return of the SUMMER GAME SHOP!

THANKS FOR PLAYING!

Badge Drop! Badge Drop! Badge Drop!

You guys are BLOWING US AWAY! The numbers are ASTOUNDING! STAGGERING! WE'RE A LITTLE BIT SCARED! 16,430,863 points earned this year. 63,918 game codes entered. 11,764 badges earned. And 2,789 players. The game started two weeks ago. Scaring us, guys...BUT IN THE BEST WAY!

Since we're so frightened by you and your INCREDIBLE SUMMER GAME PLAYING SKILLS...here's a badge drop! Don't hurt us!

2014 Badge Drop #3

We already KNOW you are going to find all of those codes and get all of those badges. So what are you going to do after you've done that? How about coming to some amazing concerts? This Sunday is the final concert in AADL's Kids Rock @ TOP concert series featuring the awesomely dance-to-able music of Aaron Nigel Smith! And next Thursday at the Downtown Library, the wizard/bookish/nerdy/GREAT music of Tonks & the Aurors!

So get hunting for those badge codes and get on your dancing shoes, Summer Gamers! AND THANKS FOR PLAYING!

YOU DON'T STOP! Neither do THE BADGES! Your SECOND WAVE of badges for 2014!

Whoa. You guys are just UNSTOPPABLE. I mean, really, we thought that maybe Summer Game just had a SUPER STRONG START this year, and maybe things would get a little sleepy. But no, no, NO, all of you hardcore SG players aren't the least bit tired. In fact, we're having trouble figuring out just when you are even fitting in sleep with all the massive READING, LISTENING, WATCHING, GOING-TO-FUN-STUFF and BADGE EARNING you've been doing!

I mean really, HOW DO YOU DO IT? You're fired up, and so are we! We can see your enthusiasm in the fact that MULTIPLE badges have already been earned by 300+ PLAYERS. I mean really, you guys are burning up the badge board!

We're happy to be dropping SIXTEEN FRESH SHINY BADGES for your playing pleasure today. And that doesn't even COUNT all the KIDS READ COMICS badges that we'll be releasing tomorrow for the KRC festivities. Whoa!

2014 Badge Drop #2

Of course, if you haven't had the chance to earn last week's badges, you can hop on those too. And, all you pro players, it's been great to see you lending a helping hand to SG new folks in the comments, too. Keep up the AWESOME WORK, and, as always... THANKS FOR PLAYING!

IT HAS BEGUN! And here comes your first BADGE DROP of 2014!

HOLY COW, GUYS! Summer game started 10 hours ago and it's off to a ROARING start! Over 700,000 points already scored, 1800 game codes entered, and 530 badges earned! 10 HOURS! And it's not just the most hardcore players, there are 500 players playing already! I know that's 5 exclamation points in a row, but you have to understand how AMAZING this is!(!)

The thing is, we had a feeling this might happen, so we came prepared: this year's first badge drop is the biggest first badge drop ever with 20 BADGES in all: 7 starter badges, 12 scavenger hunt badges, and Josie's Chickens, a special badge that requires a trip to the Downtown Library and a visit to the library director's office:
2014 Badge Drop #1

SOOOO...what's your next move? Earning badges? Planning which events you will go to? Finding codes in the catalog and on Old News? Rating items writing reviews tagging items making lists?? Visiting libraries to get codes?

Oh, speaking of codes, did I mention that there are already 174 codes waiting to be found by YOU at libraries, in the catalog, and at library events? How on earth can you do it?! Dedication, that's how! Go to those events! Complete those badges! GET THOSE CODES!!! DISMISSED!!!

School is OUT! And Summer Game 2014 is ON!

IT'S FINALLY HERE! Summer Game 2014 is now activated and READY TO PLAY! We've got some new features, new badges, and NEW PRIZES yet to come! Including:

- Points for Downloads. Get 100 points for downloading MUSIC from our collection.
- Easier Recruiting! Your recruits don't need library cards to get recruiting bonuses.
- QR codes on Code Signs! If you have a smartphone, get a QR code reader, because we've actually found something QR codes are good for! You can still type in the codes too, it's just a shortcut.
- NEW BADGES starting with BADGE DROP #1 coming around 5 PM today!
- NEW PRIZES including Binoculars, Sunglasses, Adorable inedible erasers, Glass Tumblers, AND MORE!
- BRANCH MASTER BADGES will drop August 1, and no new codes will be added to Library Buildings after August 1, so you'll have the whole month to get all the codes.
- COMPLETING THE PAPER GAME (Summer Game Classic) is now worth 2000 POINTS!
- A SUMMER GAME WRAP PARTY will be coming at the end of the summer, so stay tuned for that!

The SUMMER GAME SHOP opens Monday, July 7. For now, get hunting for codes, and start TAGGING, RATING, and REVIEWING items in the AADL Catalog for points! Or SIGN UP ONLINE if you haven't played before! Or WATCH THIS VIDEO if you have no idea what any of this is about!
