TweenSpace goes undercover!

We're becoming Masters of Disguise this week at TweenSpace. Join us at the Northeast Branch, Tuesday, February 5th from 4:30 to 6 pm to create disguises and costumes. Make a silly mustache, an eye patch, your very own Wild West vest, or anything else your imagination dreams up. If you're a 4th or 5th grader go incognito this week at TweenSpace.

Wrap It Up!

Even if you're not finished with your holiday shopping, bring what you have and 'wrap it up' at the Northeast Branch this Saturday, 1:00-3:00 PM.
Create your own gift tags and wrap using special stamps, paper and ribbons.
Feel free to create tags and wrap for those presents you still need to make or buy too. Get inspired ahead of time by checking out, Gifts Wraps or Greeting Cards and Gift Wrap

Do you have your holiday shopping done? Or started? If you’re in grades 6-12 come to the Northeast Branch December 15th from 1-3 p.m. to make your own wrapping paper for your special gifts!

TweenScene-Cup Stack Attack

Cup Stacking

Looking to stay out of the heat today? Hang out in the air conditioning at Northeast Branch and show us your skills at cup stacking. Learn the different stacks or impress us all with your fancy maneuvers at the Cycle Stack. Get some practice time in or join our tournament. Prizes given for the three fastest times in the beginner and advanced brackets.

Chic Shoeboxes - Teen Craft

Turn ordinary shoeboxes into artful containers. Store those pictures, cd's, or whatever you've got saved that needs a container. We'll have paper and add-ons to turn those ordinary containers extra-ordinary.

What's the coolest type of airbending? Join us this Thursday @ the Northeast Branch from 7-8:30 as we discuss an American spin on anime, Avatar The Last Airbender. Tween Scene—Slime Time

Feel like getting down and dirty and making slime? Come to the Malletts Creek Branch on April 9th from 11 AM-12 PM or the Northeast Branch on April 11th from 2-3 PM, and create your own gross and gooey slime.

Believe It's Spring!

For a few brief moments, we thought spring was here. That's not the case now, but we must believe that it will be here very shortly. After all, the Ann Arbor Public Schools are on Spring Break next week.

Spring means flowers. Let's make some. If you are at least 3 years old or older, come to the Northeast Branch on Tuesday, April 10th, any time between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.
We'll be making flowers, many kinds of flowers. All materials will be provided. Just bring your creative ideas.

Family Science Workshop: Backyard Meteorology: Forecasting the Future

How do meteorologists predict the weather? Is it hard to do? Find out how meteorologists predict the weather in your neighborhood! Make your own Global Warming Superhero, that you can take care of when you get home. Come to the Northeast Branch on Saturday March 31, 2007 at 2 pm, presented by UM Exhibit Museum of Natural History. Looking for something to do on the day after Christmas? Kids 8 and up can come to the Northeast Branch from 2 - 4 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 to make yarn pictures. We will use no paint, just yarn in many textures and colors.

Preschool Storytime at Northeast Branch

Preschool storytime at the Northeast Branch library will take place twice on Thursday morning for the next six-week storytime session starting November 9 and ending December 14. Gather round the carpet and join us for storytime from 10-10:30 am or from 11-11:30 am.
