Baby Barn Dance @ Pittsfield

John Freeman will lead country dance calls and folk rhythms for families with young children at a Baby Barn Dance at the Pittsfield Branch on Saturday, April 18, 11 to 11:45am. Push back the coffee table, roll up the rugs, and Practice your do-si-do with the CDs Celebration of Country by Music For Little People, Old Texas Fiddle Tunes Played The Old Way, and Country Songs For Children.

National Library Week Concert: Candy Band

They're back! Candy Band - the famous Detroit rock group comprised of four stay-at-home moms who were sick to death of “whiny music” for kids - will return to the Downtown Library on Tuesday April 14, 1 to 2pm to perform a live concert. You have never heard ‘The Alphabet Song’ or ‘It’s Your Birthday’ played like this! They were a smash when they appeared at AADL in September – do not miss them this time around!

Italian Festival!

This Sunday, March 29th, we will have a true celebration of Italian culture at the Downtown Library from 2-3:30 pm. All ages are invited to join Francesco Cavallini for lovely mandolin and accordion music. Francesco’s student, the renowned Julian Pavone, or The World’s Youngest Drummer, as he is known throughout the nation, will also be joining us. Silvio’s Organic Pizza will provide a delicious taste and we will get all sticky making venetian carnival masks with feathers, sparkles and glue.

AADL's access to on-line LIVE tutoring just got easier. The first page is oh-so simple to navigate. Visit AADL's newest LIVE homework help by clicking here: Brainfuse. This service is available from 2 pm-11 pm EVERY DAY of the week from home or from 2:00 PM at AADL sites till closing time. Core subject tutoring is offered for grades 3-12 and adult learners, too. There's also a writing lab and a 24/7 Help portal. It's quick, secure and FUN! You can brush up on your subjects before school starts!

Enchanted Spring, Fairies, Cicely Mary Barker & The Matthei Conservatory!

We're all ready to get outside, but it's still a little too cold - so take your coat off and visit the Matthei Conservatory for the lovely, fun and springy Enchanted Spring Display celebrating Cicely Mary Barker's Flower Fairies. Find fairies hidden in the conservatory, smell the hyacinth, dapple amongst the daffodils and other gorgeous spring bulbs all over the conservatory, and make a fairy sachet! Or make your own fairy container garden, and start some seeds for your own garden. This special display runs through March 31, for complete information on the display click here.
